Position Summary

SURVICE is currently seeking a part-time Recorder / Technical Writer to recording meeting minutes for Scientific and Technical Information (STI) Exchange Events between the Air Force (AF) and industry/academic technology developers. These STI Exchange Events will be held at different strategic geographical areas throughout the United States.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend various STI Exchange Events providing meeting minutes that capture the keys discussion points and technologies/science advocated related to the AF technical focus areas.
  • This position will be part of the Defense Systems Information Analysis Center (DSIAC) (www.dsiac.org), which is operated by SURVICE Engineering for the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Coordinate with Government and STI Exchange Event Facilitators to ensure meeting minutes capture all pertinent STI Exchange Event information to include summary of key technology/science advocated, action items, best practices and lesson learned from the event.
  • The Recorder/Technical Writer may be involved in STI Exchange Event planning, preparation and coordination.  

Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts Degree preferably in English or communications (or a Bachelor of Science) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing and taking technical meeting minutes. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in taking meeting minutes at a DoD meetings and/or direct involvement in technical writing related to developing DoD technical publications and reports.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with the operation in a DoD office setting, and AF strategic and/or technical documentation is a plus. Direct experience with Adobe Creative Suite software, especially Adobe InDesign is also a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship required; must possess or be eligible for a DoD security clearance. 

Travel requirements

Up to 60%
